Overview:

This online course will cover what Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is and will explore how two Canadian ECLS programs have developed and discuss how they manage the mobility of patients requiring ECMO.

 

The Presenters:

Vincent Lo

Vincent Lo is a physiotherapist working at the Toronto General Hospital in the MSICU. He is actively involved in clinical research trials and teaching with the University of Toronto since 2001.

 

Rys Chapple

Rys Chapple is the physiotherapy critical care team lead at Vancouver General Hospital. He has a passionate interest in ECMO and has supported training programs at the Canadian Critical Care Conference around mobilizing and proning this patient population. He enjoys teaching and has recently been involved with the University of British Columbia to support students development.
