Speaker Bio
Jason Taddeo (he/him) PT, DHSc, MScPT, MScRS-OMPT, CAFCI, CGIMS, AVPT(c), FCAMPT
Jason is a life-long resident of Northwestern Ontario and has called Thunder Bay his home for over 20 years. He graduated from Lakehead University with his Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology and went on to complete his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster university. He completed his Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy and qualified as a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists. Jason has certified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and in Gunn Intra-Muscular Stimulation methods. He has also pursued advanced dry needling techniques in the Gokavi Transverse Technique as well as The Chronic Pain Management Certificate program with the University of Alberta.
Jason returned to academics and completed a second Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Science - Orthopaedic Manual Physiotherapy program through McMaster University followed by his Doctorate of Health Sciences through the University of St. Augustine, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with an interest in virtual healthcare services and concussion management. He is currently pursuing his Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapy Certification with the University of Pittsburgh.
Outside of the clinic he teaches as an Assistant Professor with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University and as an Instructor for Shift Concussion Management. In addition, he mentors medical and physiotherapy students and residents regularly. Jason has served as Past-President for the Northwestern Division of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and as a Past-President and committee chair for the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy as well.
His area of research currently focus on virtual physiotherapy in the field of concussion, as well as classification systems for spinal pain, having presented internationally on this. Jason has presented at the 2024 UBC Chan Gunn Lecture on Interprofessional Considerations in Pain Management: The Role of Gunn IMS and Exercise Therapy in Pain Modulation. He presently is the education representative for the Acupuncture and Dry Needling Division.
