Overview

This live webinar will cover the interdisciplinary benefits of engaging in adapted physical activity for children and youth experiencing disability including, physical, cognitive, and social health outcomes.

Geared toward clinicians and students, this talk will provide a theoretical basis for intervention, along with research-based examples of adapted physical activity programming. 


Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the interdisciplinary benefits of adapted physical activity programming.
  2. Apply their knowledge to help increase physical activity opportunities for children and youth experiencing disability. 


Presenter Bio: Dr. Emily Bremer, PhD

Dr. Emily Bremer, PhD, Embodia Instructor

Dr. Emily Bremer (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology at Acadia University and Canada Research Chair in Healthy Inclusive Communities. Her research includes lab- and community-based studies, with a strong emphasis on intervention design, program evaluation, and measurement.
