Course Description:

This narrative review outlines how, and to what extent, exercise and/or physical activity have been incorporated into telerehabilitation interventions for adults with chronic low back pain (CLBP).

The Consensus on Exercise Reporting Template (CERT) was used to describe characteristics of the exercise interventions included. This review will aid clinicians in developing telerehabilitation treatment plans for clients with CLBP.

Speakers:

Ashley Morgan is a registered physiotherapist who is completing her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at McMaster University, in Hamilton, ON. Her clinical background is in orthopaedics and she has also been involved in teaching for McMaster’s Physiotherapy program. Her research interests focus on exercise prescription for older adults and those with chronic conditions.

Ashley is interested in determining efficient ways to improve exercise adherence, particularly in-home settings. Ashley hopes that the results of her research will be translated into positive changes in how exercise is prescribed in the field of physiotherapy.
