Join Dr. Rebeca Segraves, PT, DPT, for a free webinar for birth professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and public health experts. This session will provide valuable insights into the critical factors that influence the decision to offer rehabilitation services to postpartum patients during their hospital stay.

This webinar will be 60 minutes in length, with 30 minutes of content presented followed by a 30 minute Q&A session with the participants.


Learning Objectives

After the webinar, participants will be able to

  1. Identify the conditions that influence the birth team's decision to offer rehabilitation services to postpartum patients in a hospital setting.

  2. Evaluate real patient case examples to analyze evidence-based criteria for initiating rehabilitation within 24-48 hours after childbirth considering physical, psychological, and social factors.

  3. Develop a decision-making framework for healthcare providers to use for determining when and how to offer occupational and physiotherapy to postpartum patients based on clinical guidelines and best practices.

Dr. Rebeca Segraves
PT, DPT

Dr. Rebeca Segraves, PT, DPT is Board-Certified as a Women’s Health Clinical Specialist.

She has extensive experience treating perinatal and pelvic health conditions in acute care, home health, and outpatient settings including long-term hospitalizations for high-risk pregnancy and following perinatal loss. She has worked with inpatient obstetrics and gynecology teams to maximize early recovery after delivery and pelvic surgery, including hysterectomy, prolapse repair, endometriosis surgery, cesarean section, birth-related injuries, and following obstetrics critical care interventions.

She is the founder of Enhanced Recovery After Delivery™, an obstetrics clinical pathway that maximizes mental and physical function during pregnancy and immediately postpartum with hospital and in-home occupational and physical therapy. Her vision is that every person will have access to a qualified rehab therapist during pregnancy and within the first 6 weeks after birth, perinatal loss, pregnancy termination, and any pelvic surgery regardless of their location or ability to pay.
